The founding team competed in the Addis Ababa Science and Technology University Innovation Center competition and ranked as the second-best team out of all entrants. A first proof of concept that the talent and ideas were real.
1st Place Visit Oromia National Hackathon
The team won first place nationally with "HotSpot" a platform connecting tourists with Ethiopia's cultural and natural hidden gems. This win signaled that Horan was ready to compete and win at scale. Horan Technologies was formally incorporated the same year.
Contractual Works Local & International
Horan signed its first multi-party contractual engagements with both Ethiopian businesses and international clients. The team delivered production software across diverse industries, proving the outsourcing model worked.
Legal Registration & Global Expansion
Official legal registration as a software outsourcing company positioned Horan for global operations. The company established the governance, contracts, and processes needed to serve clients across multiple time zones and jurisdictions.
